Logiciel Boréal ("we," "our," "us") is committed to protecting the personal information you entrust to us. This policy describes how we collect, use, protect, and retain your information, in compliance with Quebec's Act to modernize legislative provisions respecting the protection of personal information (Law 25) and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

2. Information we collect

We collect only the information you voluntarily provide through our website's contact form:

  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • Phone number (optional)
  • Company name (optional)
  • Description of your project or inquiry

We do not automatically collect any information for advertising or profiling purposes. Our site does not use third-party tracking cookies, analytics tools like Google Analytics, or Facebook pixels.

3. Purposes of collection

Your information is used exclusively to:

  • Respond to your contact or quote request
  • Establish and maintain a business relationship if you become a client
  • Reply to your follow-up questions by email

We will never send you newsletters or marketing communications without your explicit consent.

4. Sharing of information

We never sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

We use only the following service providers to operate our site, each applying recognized security standards:

  • Resend (secure email delivery from the contact form)
  • Supabase (secure storage of form submissions)
  • Vercel (website hosting)

Some of these providers may process or store data outside of Quebec or Canada (notably in the United States). In compliance with Law 25, we ensure they provide protection equivalent to Quebec requirements.

5. Data retention

We retain your information only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected:

  • Unconverted contact requests: 24 months
  • Client records: for the duration of the relationship, plus 7 years (accounting and tax obligations)

Once these periods expire, your information is securely destroyed or anonymized.

6. Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information:

  • HTTPS encryption across the entire site
  • Data access restricted to authorized personnel
  • Two-factor authentication on all administrative tools
  • Encrypted backups and reputable cloud infrastructure

7. Cookies

Our site uses only strictly necessary cookies required for the site to function properly (e.g., remembering your preferred language). These cookies do not track your activity and do not require explicit consent under Law 25.

If we eventually add analytics or advertising tools, this policy will be updated and a consent mechanism will be added.

8. Your rights

Under Law 25, you have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Right of access: obtain a copy of the information we hold about you
  • Right of rectification: correct any inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Right to portability: receive your data in a structured, reusable format
  • Right to withdraw consent: withdraw consent and request deletion of your data
  • Right to complain: file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec

9. Privacy incidents

In the event of a privacy incident posing a serious risk of harm, we will notify you without delay and inform the Commission d'accès à l'information, as required by Law 25.
